After Shower. Before Bed. SkinCare

I always shower after work. I know a lot of people shower in the morning but for me the idea of getting into my bed with all the day on me (subway, workout sweat, stress sweat, food of various kinds) grosses me out! So as soon as I get home for the day, be it 9 PM or 3 I shower and prep for bed, even if bed isn’t for a few hours.

In the shower I use an oil cleanser first to take off the day so my next cleanser can actually clean my skin. I follow with a cleanser that is somewhat exfoliating ’cause I am a sucker for ‘new’ dewy skin! Sometimes I will use a toner, maybe a sample I have or witch hazel. But like its not a priority man. It is the following steps that I think really make the difference. The shower steps are prep work to the meal you are about to get cooking!

Listen, Spring is weird. It has between weather and skin needs are a bit everywhere so I will do an summer skin routine post when the warm (hopefully unquarantined!) times come! But this is kinda my thing for the time being…

I add a small drop of The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG under my eyes. This helps with puffiness and dark circles. It is very light and need just a tiny bit.

My second step is The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 A few drops on my entire face. This is all about moisture and plumpness!

Then I apply The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane to my entire face avoiding the eye area and trying to apply in an upward motion. Dear serum gods may I continue to age and grow eternally but look younger and more naive externally! Pretty please?

I let those sink in while I moisturize my body and any other little things I want to do (eyelash serum, hair serum, boil water for some tea!) Sometimes I wait 10 min but most of the time it is more like 3-4.

Final Step is a good moisturizer and even though this is in actual fact not a night moisturize, I have been treating Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Facial as a nighttime moisturizer and loving it. Usually not a fan of Rose smelling things over here but this is so light and smells like the real flower and is very pleasant. I just love the way my skin looks and feels. Marvellous! Just bright and clear!

Sometimes at the end, or if I did this earlier in the night I will wait and do this closer to bed I spritz my face with Grace & Stella Rose Facial Spray. I know I just said usually rose is not my thing but just like the Korres sleeping facial this is lovely and light. Very real smelling! I find it re hydrates everything and just gives my skin that something something you know?!?

So what are you all doing skin wise? Anyone psyched about a product?

  8. Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
