Fleetwood Mac Tusk the hard taco (with the soft heart)

Tusk is Fleetwood Mac’s follow up to the famous beyond famous Rumours. I mean how do you follow Rumours? Even they must have known that the personal relationship turmoil that happened behind the scenes had turned into magic liquid gold that coats your inner so intensely yet with such a soft caress. Like a lover who might not be so good in the long run but is o so good right now.
Although Tusk tackles the love battle it does it in a very different way. Its an experiment more than an album, but produces some fantastic freaking songs.
I think the Ledge might actually be my favourite song on the album but today we are going to talk about the song that is named after the AlbumThe creative, the crazy, the brilliant marching band infused Tusk.

This song is so deep, a bit backhanded and you feel that relationship moment. You are done feeling sad and you are prepared for the answers you once could not bare to hear.
It is layered and layered. The sounds are layered, the lyrics are layered. The feeling are layered. The food that is  being called out is layered. Physically and mentally.


The Taco


This song craved something with flavour upon flavour and to me nothing does this more than a mexican influence. 
Tex Mex is legit its own thing and I think sometimes we forget how good it is. I like this with beans but my fella likes it with meat so I usually make both!

Black Bean Salad

Ingredients

Black Beans                        1 Can or 1.5 C prepared from dry

Cilantro/Parsley                   ⅓ C

Garlic                                   1 Clove

Green Onions                      ⅓ C

EV Olive Oil                         1 TBSP

Franks Red Hot                   1 TBSP

Chili Powder                        ½ TBSP

S&P

Preparation

Literally Chop It all up! 

Put it in a bowl and let it sit in the fridge for at least 30 Min but like a day and it’s even better!

Sometimes I smush the beans with the back of a fork but if I am lazy I just leave them whole. Your call my sweets!

Take it out of the fridge about an hour before serving to bring to room Temp

Beef Filling

Ingredients

Ground Beef                    1 Pound 

Garlic                               1 Clove

Onion (WHT)                    ⅓ C

Green Pepper                   ⅓ C

Chili Powder                     2 TBSP

Franks Red Hot                1 TBSP

EV Olive Oil                      2 TBSP

S&P

Preparation

Brown the beef with the seasonings until it’s getting really caramelized. 

Then Add the chopped green pepper, onion and garlic. 

Cook until the veggies are soft.

Avocado Tomato Salad

Ingredients

Avocado                        2

Cherry Tomatoes          ⅓ C

Lime                             Juice of 1 Lime

Onion (WHT)                ¼ C

Mango                          ¼ C

Cilantro/Parsley            ⅓ C

Franks Red Hot            1 TBSP

S&P

Preparation

Slightly mash the avocados

Add Seasonings and lime juice.

Chop the onion and mango fine and the tomatoes in half and add to salad gently tossing in the herbs.

Put your beans or Meat or both on the bottom of a warmed hard taco or Corn Tortilla and Top with salad and a bit of shredded Monterey Jack or Cheddar Cheese

    1. I so am not the person to ask as I am just finding my footing myself, but I have a paid site (desilicious.ca) it’s just not working at the morning and from the advice that I got buying your own domain is the way to go!!
